Alzheimers Coachella Valley

About the Organization

At Alzheimers Coachella Valley, we focus on the PERSON with cognitive impairment and what is STILL POSSIBLE. Our philosophy is to assist the individual and family whether it is providing resources, up-to-date information, and very importantly, socialization. We believe that "life goes on," and encourage both caregiver and loved one to tap into that and continue to live!

We also offer bereavement support.
Our Club Journey group for Caregivers AND their loved ones with diagnoses meets every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:00 am. We do some light stretching, share activities and projects we are doing and play word games. Lunch is included! We have an online group on Fridays at 10:00 am. In addition, we offer a sing-a-long group, Tunes for the Memories, every Friday at 1:30 pm. Art Classes will be held on the second Wednesday of each month at 10:00 am. Dementia Friendly Café is a Happy Hour for couples in our own private room on the second Wednesday of each month at 3:00 pm.

We have a monthly education class for Caregivers with Edwina Dirk, RN. Classes are held on the last Thursday of each month at 5:30 pm. We also have a two-part communications class, Meaningful Conversations with the Cognitively Impaired, call 760.776.3100 for a schedule of classes.

We have an eight-week program, Traveling the Journey Together, for caregivers and their loved ones. Each week couples will hear an informative lecture on topics such as in home care, placement, legal planning, pharmaceuticals, and more. They will then split into a caregiver support group and an activity group for the diagnosed.

The new ACV Screening Center has opened to provide free, accessible, screenings for those with concerns about cognitive impairment and/or memory loss.

Our office is open Monday through Friday, 9am to 4pm. We have several resources and are happy to answer questions!
