National Multiple Sclerosis Society

About the Organization

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information between the brain and the body. Walk MS® is an event that unites us as a powerful community locally - dedicated to raising funds and making a difference for the nearly one million people living with MS in the United States.

Walk MS is an annual event that brings people throughout our local communities together to honor those living with MS while being surrounded by those who care for someone that has MS and who support the Society's goal to end MS. Currently, there is no cure to MS but we are closer to a cure now more than ever. We have made more progress on MS research in the last five years versus the prior seventy years; an MS diagnosis can now be made in hours, versus months or even years. The Society has paved the way for every effective MS treatment available today, including the first therapies for primary progressive and pediatric MS.

Multiple Sclerosis can affect anyone and those diagnosed with MS can experience a variety of different symptoms.. Please help us move toward a world free of MS and find a cure!
