Lift to Rise

About the Organization

At Lift to Rise, we believe that in the Coachella Valley, when the sun rises, it rises for everyone. We are a collaboration of more than 70 partners, including private and public sector leaders and community advocates, working on a bold plan to radically increase housing stability and economic mobility for everyone in the Coachella Valley.

In 2018, we set an audacious goal of building 10,000 new units of affordable housing in the Coachella Valley by 2028 and reducing the number of rent-burdened households in the valley by 30 percent. We will achieve these goals by following the strategies in our Action Plan, which is updated every two years through our Housing Collaborative Action Network (CAN) and community input.

Through our coordination, affordable housing production in the Coachella Valley has increased from an average of 38 units per year prior to 2018 to over 1,600 units at present.

Other aspects of our multi-faceted approach include our innovative We Lift housing catalyst fund, the interactive online Affordable Housing Pipeline Portal, and resident engagement programs such as our Resident Leadership Table and Committees By Cities initiative.
